Advocates for a Quick Confirmation Process
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Martha McSally met with attorney general nominee William Barr.
“I welcomed the chance to meet with attorney general nominee Bill Barr. He is well-qualified to be attorney general, particularly given his exemplary service as attorney general for President George H.W. Bush,” Sen. McSally said. “We discussed a variety of issues of importance to Arizonans, and I was pleased to hear that Barr wants to prioritize combating transnational criminal organizations and human traffickers within the Department of Justice. We also discussed the need for an appointment of a U.S. attorney for the District of Arizona, which is vitally important for public safety and national security. I am hopeful that his confirmation process moves quickly.”
