U.S. SENATE – U.S. Senator Martha McSally (R-AZ) announced today that Arizona’s skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) will receive $41.4 million in additional funding to combat the coronavirus pandemic as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
The funding will be spread across 121 Arizona SNFs and will be distributed by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) starting today. HHS will make relief fund distributions to SNFs based on both a fixed basis and variable basis. Each SNF will receive a fixed distribution of $50,000, plus a distribution of $2,500 per bed. All certified SNFs with six or more certified beds are eligible for this targeted distribution.
“It’s our duty to do all we can to protect the greatest generation from this cruel coronavirus,” McSally said. “This vital CARES Act funding will provide nursing home workers on the frontlines with more resources to properly protect themselves and our vulnerable seniors whom they serve and care for.”
