Securing Arizona’s Water Future a Top Legislative Priority

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Martha McSally issued the following statement regarding her meeting with Bureau of Reclamation Commissioner Brenda Burman concerning the Drought Contingency Plan:
“Today’s meeting with Commissioner Burman on the latest efforts in Arizona on the Drought Contingency Plan was a productive one,” said Sen. McSally. “Governor Ducey made clear that securing our water future is one of the state’s top legislative priorities—and I wholeheartedly agree. Although final details of the drought agreement remain to be ironed out, I am proud of the Arizona stakeholders who continue to lead on this effort, including Governor Ducey, Governor Bruce Babbitt, Senator Jon Kyl, and many others. I look forward to ensuring that Arizona’s interests are protected here in Washington as the State Legislature and the Governor complete work on this important initiative.”
